Welcome to the Western States Contractors’ Alliance (WSCA). The WSCA is a relatively new organization established to help contractors with their administrative needs, reduce overhead costs and mitigate the impact of the construction defect litigation crisis on the building industry, particularly but not exclusively the residential portion of that industry.
Membership in the WSCA is open to contractors, subcontractors and associate members in all of the various businesses and professions involved in building industry activities. One indication of
the support of companies in these categories is the fact that the WSCA is one of the fastest growing organizations in the building industry, adding new members at a rate of over three per working day.
As those familiar with the building industry are well aware, the impact of lawsuits and/or the threat thereof, have resulted in high general liability insurance costs and extensive restrictions. While these are not the only factors impacting the ability of the industry to provide products such as affordable housing, they are important ones that can be mitigated. The WSCA was formed to assist the building industry in reducing administrative and overhead costs while improving a contractor’s flexibility to operate with fewer outside restrictions.
There is, of course, no simple solution to this problem. Rather it is a combination of steps which include educational programs, insurance programs, related products and services--- all subjects that improve the ability of contractors and subcontractors alike to operate in an increasingly complex and litigious environment.
The introductory page is designed particularly for contractors who may be more familiar with building complex structures than finding their way through the seeming intricacies of a web site. By following the instructions contained below, we at WSCA believe prospective members of our organization will find all the information and forms that they need to begin reaping the benefits of membership in this organization.
